Re: A good Remembrance Sunday to All
I watched the Festival of Remembrance last night and that was extremely well done.
This morning at the Cenotaph was very sombre, perhaps they could have permitted one representative from each Ship, Regiment, or Wing and Association to lay a wreath so maybe 100 or so.

Yes, it was a sombre affair.
Got to ask, who was the chap standing next to William?
Old, arthritic.

Yes, thought it was well done under the circumstances - not sure about the gospel choir though.Polchraine wrote:I watched the Festival of Remembrance last night and that was extremely well done.

Field Marshall HRH Prince Edward, Duke of Kent - definitely. 21 years military service up to 1976 when he left active service, promoted to FM in 1993. He is now 85 yo. He is President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.Christel wrote:Yeah, I think so. Well doneDaryll wrote:Duke of Kent..??Christel wrote:Yes, it was a sombre affair.

His father was Prince George, Duke of Kent, who was killed in a flying accident in 1942 whilst on active service and commemorated in a Church Yard very close to me.
