1941 Izhevsk Mosin Nagant, Finnish-captured.....

I have for sale, due to a shift in the focus of my collecting, a beautiful 1941 dated Izhevsk Arsenal produced M91/30 Mosin Nagant that was captured by the Finns during the Continuation War.It is SA and 41 stamped, the 41 is a Finnish mark which denotes that it is indeed a Continuation War capture so it wasn’t in Soviet hands for long.

The stock is a Finnish made two piece “pot-belly” example, made by Oy Ekwall AB (who also produced rather sought after and collectible furniture!) and the butt has their makers mark on the right side and it has exquisite finger joints at the splice. The stocks were made specifically as two piece stocks as they are less prone to warping in extreme cold. The stock and the Finnish made brass-tipped handguard are made from Arctic Birch and the stock has the typically Finnish sling hangers front and rear.

The chamber and bore are in excellent condition and it is an accurate rifle, the muzzle has been slightly counter-bored which is common. The barrel shank and bolt body serial numbers match, commonly known as “Finn-matched” but the rest of the rifle is a mix of parts from different timeframes and makers including a buttplate from an Imperial Sestroryetsk M91!......I do have a list of which Arsenal originally produced which parts if interested.

This rifle is as good, in my opinion, as M91/30’s get and it shouldn’t be confused with the typical Soviet refurbed 91/30, Mosin’s in this condition and getting scarcer and I’m looking for £765 which includes a period correct SA marked sling and a non-matching M91/30 bayonet which is in very nice condition.

I would prefer a face-to-face sale so you can see the rifle or could deliver if not too far away and Covid dependent etc.RFD transfer may be possible at cost to the buyer.......if someone does buy it then it is obviously up to them what they do with it but given its condition and Continuation War history etc I would prefer to sell it to someone who will appreciate it for what it is and leave it as it is.....if you want a Mosin to turn into a “sniper” perhaps a run of the Soviet refurbed rifle would be more suitable.

If genuinely interested I can send detailed photos via email as having issues posting photos....any comments/questions please pm me rather than clutter up the post :good:

Lovely rifle and I would love to have it. Not for sniper purposes - just for my personal collection of historical. Unfortunately too high for my budget that I have this days.
Sorry I can't buy it.....

Pictures must be jpeg or jpg and max 1500 pixels in size at the highest.
So if the picture in 4850(W) x 3780(H), max can be 1500(H) x whatever the link between them gives (W)
If a picture is 3500 x 4800, then it will have to be whatever the link gives x 1500.
Just in case you need this info to load more pictures.
Hope this helps.
