I was bored....so I made this.....

I have been on furlough for the best part of two weeks due to the ongoing chip shortage that JLR are experiencing and just before I went off I changed the discs and pads on the Alfa Romeo and had the old discs still sat in the shed and started wondering if I could upcycle them.......
So I decided to make a new front shooting rest using one of the old front discs to provide some weight so it doesn't move around, as the old SVD can be a bit lively.I used some laminated board from an old Russian ammo crate and the jack I have borrowed off my previous rest, cleaned the disc up a bit and gave it a lick with a satin black rattle can and gave the wood a couple of coats of shellac. The wood discs looks a bit rustic around the edges as they aren't perfectly round as I had to cut them by hand but they do the job and to be honest I didn't want them to be perfect.
It has more than enough weight for it to stay put and the only real expense was £5.99 for the spray paint and it kept me occupied for a few hours........just need to replace the jack that I borrowed from the other rest but that'll be a job for another day
