10 bore blanks

have been asked to load some blanks for a sailing club
apparently 10 bore are difficult to get ?
so anyone got any recipes ?
thinking black powder or a substitute for the noise but how much ?
wads felt or card ?

Black powder works best with large calibre shotgun blanks.
A card wad sealed in with glue is normally sufficient but a heavy wad will increase pressure and therefore noise. If the sailing club has a spare round to show you reproducing it should be fairly simple.
These shells are loaded to just over 200 grains or 8 drams.

I'd start lower, make up a few prototypes and test them until the desired noise level is reached.
Blanks of any kind have become difficult to find recently, even .303 is approaching £1 a round.
