Advice please.
We have had a firearm in for repair since November 2022.
All communication has come from our side, the gunsmith hasn't been in touch at all. Emails are ignored as are text messages, rarely answers calls.
Obviously I am not going to name the gunsmith or make them identifiable, just need some advice on how to progress when they are not communicating.
Thank you.

Also I would say the time frame is not that long, if it is a proper 'Smith then bound to be busy.
Lack of communication is a big no no though.

Re: Advice please.
He is a proper 'smith and we totally understand people get busy.
It's the complete lack of communication that is the issue. We've been patient but even after talking to him a few months ago and sending him information, he has never responded. Complete silence.
Not the sort to be on social media either.

Hello
Send him a registered letter informing him that you intend to proceed to small claims court for the return or cost of the firearm.
That might jog him a bit, if not it doesn't actually cost that much to actually proceed.

Did wonder about doing that. We really would hope that he would do the right thing but it is maybe our only option. We think we have his address so that might be the ext step.
Thanks.

Re: Advice please.
Don't forget something may have happened to the gunsmith, or someone close to them which is of higher priority than 'work'. With the time thats passed you'd hope that a system would have kicked in if it was the worst case scenario but unless I knew it was a case of them just ignoring you I'd try every method before going in guns blazing, if you'll pardon the pun!

Re: Advice please.
Had this happen to me once, months of no communication at all, sent him a polite message that I was about to inform the police about a stolen firearm, received a reply that night.

How did he get your firearm? Did you not check his details when you handed it over?
