I'm going to look at a mk2 on Friday and I know they are an old target rifle, is there anything in particular that I should be looking for.
It's a left-hand 26" barrel model.

They are grand old rifles and very well made. What are your plans? If you are going to use it for standard prone shooting, if so, then make sure you have the aperture sights will it as they tend to be worth as much as the rifle. If you are going to use it for bench shooting you will need a scope mount.
If it's an ex-club rifle then I would try an push a patch through the barrel looking for a slight bulge in the barrel. It's not uncommon the find that some novice shooter has shot a squib round then fired another behind it.

It does come with the left-handed ph25al sight.

I make a scope mount for the Internationals when the time comes.
I also make a magnets ammo holder in the style of the Parker -Hale QL5.

Drop the action out and check for fouling build up on the face of the action and around the barrel tenon. Make sure all sights are there and complete. Is the hand stop present along with the sling attachment. Are the front sight elements and rear sight eye piece all there? Is there anything else available, such as a jacket, glove, spotting scope,mat,etc?

The Mk2 is a big heavy bugger. Take the action out and have a look up the rifle after rodding it out and cleaning it thoroughly.
These rifles are old and can be roughly treated by some club shooters, so make sure it hasn't been left in a damp club cabinet to go rusty.
