Chiappa MFOUR-22

Hi All. Does anyone here have any experience of a Chiappa MFOUR? They seem like good value at sub-£500 new, and have mostly good reviews. Is there a downside?

I was going to get one,but was advised against it as it's almost all plastic,and has reliability issues (although I'm sure there's folk who will claim otherwise) the m&p seems a better option,plenty about,ans the other one tipmmann seems to be good.....I had a few over the years,the spikes was not good at all,the colt had a rubbish inner tube barrell,that was not good either,the m&p I put roofing lead in the pistol grip and but and forend (forend was tricky) to give it some weight...the cmmg was good,as was the tippmann which a friend has....

Thank you thats helpful. I was considering a Tippmann as a couple of people in the club have them and I have shot one and liked it. But at over double the cost of the M&P and MFOUR I am struggling to justify it when its really just for a bit of plinking, rather than something I am going to compete with. So it sounds like the M&P may be a better option...

Unlike Running Man, I haven't had any problems with my two Spikes cicra 2010, but that was before everyone wanted the M4 look at the range. No idea what the recent ones are like.

My most recent purchase was a Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 for my wife, its light (too light for me), but functions well my only gripe is its polymer but I cannot fault the about of aftermarket upgrades (triggers etc) there are around for the M&P 15-22 and even for standard M4's out there to be honest.

The best of the best which you pay for is a Bradley Arms, but unsure if they make them anymore.

Lantac are fit for purpose too, but as the Spikes etc a lot more than the Chippa.

If I was starting a again I would look at a CMMG as you can get them new for around £800 which si the same price as the M&P15-22 but is all metal etc.

I still.have my Bradley arms,will never let that go.....amazing gun...although its in 300 blackout,a guy did take over from mark,but I'm unsure of what they are like now...bought my spikes in 2010 as well and I obviously bought a lemon cas it was absolute rubbish,from nwcp....two guys at our club turned up with chiappas,both ceased to own them shortly after...but again they might just hev been impatient or unlucky.

Never understood the 'too light' criticism of the 15-22. As far as i'm concerned a perfect gun that doesn't need the weight to help tame the recoil of the calibre should weigh precisely zero pounds, zero ounces!

Personally I find that the weight just makes it sit more comfortably than the lighter M&P 15-22, its personal choice as you have stated, you prefer lighter, I prefer something with a little more meat on the bones, with the added that I can just swap out the upper for a straight pull and keep the same lower / trigger etc.

Its horses for courses.
