I have been going to the Trafalgar Meeting since 1988 and have only missed one year, 2021, due to no arms fair. I am trying to make up my mind if I should make the effort to attend this year. I am just coming out of a bout of proper man flu, sore throat, coughing, temperature and feeling knackered. Most of last weekend spent in bed. I haven't felt this bad for years. I am not sure I can face the almost 500 mile round trip. I am getting into my mid 70s now so not as robust as I once was. I do like going but am not looking to buy any more rifles, though I would stock up on ammunition and components. I enjoy looking round the arms fair to see what is there. Entries close on Monday, so I will have to decide by tomorrow. Is anyone else on this forum going this year?

I used to love the Trafalgar meeting but haven't been in ten years.

It started getting very expensive and the buzz seemed to be going away from the event.

The journey to such a remote part of the country is also very tortuous nowadays, any long journeys I make now are only to the north, south is shite!

The world has moved to a place I do not wish to be so things need to be on my terms now.

If I was to enter all the competitions I used to 'twould cost me nigh on £250 in entry fees alone!!!!! FFS!!!!!!!!

Well, I am still feeling knackered so have decided not to go. Also, my car has been hit by a stone and that has put a big chip and a foot long crack in the windscreen. Autoglass can't fix it until next Tuesday so I am staying home.

I know how you feel Peter. Some effing scroat put a brick through my rear screen earlier this year during the night. Didn't know it was my alarm that was going off because I was asleep at the time and by the time I got to look through the window it had all gone quiet.
Had to wait for three days before I could book it in and it rained every day.

Using the Scotsgun rule - Autoglass; i have never had a good experience with this company. (1 use, 1 car written off as a result)
