Bipod choice

I have decided to get a bipod for my Parker Hale 1200TX and M82 lookalike rifles. I would only get one bipod and swap them between the two rifles. However, I know very little about bipods. I see they vary in price from £20 odd to hundreds. I have looked at the Parker Hale ones at £200 ish, that is more than I paid for the rifle. I have looked at the Versa pod that seem to be Parker Hale copies. I will only be using them for informal range target shooting. I have a bipod on my Remington 700. I am not sure what make it is but says Made in China on it. Has anyone any advise as to what would be suitable?
Regards
Peter.

Cheap ones are never worth it in my opinion. But there is also a law of diminishing returns so I wouldn't go spending loads unless you're in very high level competition. You can get a Harris bipod for sub £100 which is very good value and probably the sweet spot for that style of bipod.

I echo the other replies, a Harris or good clone. As Pippin said, avoid the cheap ones. I bought cheap one off Fleabay to save fitting my FTR one for cleaning. It flops around like a boned fish and would be no use to shoot off.

I use a Harris on my Blaser and it's ideal for informal club shooting. I did buy a "wholly expensive batman" Atlas and the piticanny rail for a CZ LRP .22" for target shooting, it's a great piece of kit but after use I wouldn't say it's cost / value in comparison to the Harris would make me rush out and buy another one but putting a cheap bipod on an expensive precision setup would rather defeat the object but I suspect I'd be hard pushed to see if it shoots any better than if I used a Harris.

If you want a "tacticool" type bipod, then before you part with a shedload of money, have a look at the Atlas clones advertised on ebay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266407647981 ... R5q1hvLwZA
I used one of these on a Blaser LRS 308 a few years ago, and it was fine. They were allegedly made under licence from Atlas, and intended for the paintball cult.....

Thanks for the replies. I think I will give Norman Clark a call and see what they suggest as they are Parker Hale experts.
