Two new handguns

Despite my frequently expressed desire to reduce the quantity of firearms on hand (and actually selling some), two more have crowded into the safe. A bit of backstory first.
My father accumulated a quantity of U.S. silver dollars over his lifetime which he passed along to me. The majority were not collectable, just dollars that showed handling, cleaning with a wire wheel, worn, etc. Recently my wife needed hearing aids which are quite expensive, so I sold most of the dollars to fund the devices plus pay some bills. Somehow enough of the sale proceeds stuck to my fingers to pay for a Beretta M9 commercial model.
The commercial model is like the military issue in markings and frame shape. It comes with the silly plastic guide rod, different grip screws, and a plastic trigger spring/lanyard loop plug all of which I replaced. It also has an epoxy-type finish instead of the military finish. Shoots nicely.
My local firearms forum https://www.carolinafirearmsforum.com/index.php has a section where members post limited time great deals. One of the posts was for the Taurus TS-9, a military handgun used by agencies in Brazil. I'm not of a fan of non-hammer fired pistols, and do not like Glocks at all. My son is a LEO and has a Glock with a red dot sight as his issue arm. I've shot it and am not a fan. But, the TS-9 was only $230 delivered to my local gunshop so I ordered and received it. I shot it the other day and what a great experience. It is accurate, recoil is low, and the trigger is actually very nice. Probably the best bargain on the U.S. firearms market today.
I hope everyone on the forum has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
