FAC/SGC fees increase

#1 Post by PeterN »

It seems the Home Office is to lay an order before Parliament to increase fees to cover full cost recovery. These is no actual rate given but speculation of up to £400. We will have to see what the actual figure will be.
Regards
Peter.

This was in Starmer's policies pre-election. He also said that the funds would be used to help prevent youth crime. I found it exceptionally distasteful that he decided to make a link between legal gun ownership and youth crime.

Move it to 10 years - that will cut the cost to police forces.

Starmer said a lot of things, pre-election....as did his predecessors, and the crowd before them. T'was ever thus...

It's a win-win for them anyway. Either everyone will cough up the increased fees and swell their coffers, or many will say "sod it" and pack up, which suits their agenda. Not really going to bother me as I'm on my last FAC.

Hello
Know what you mean, its all part of their very devious plans.
Like you I have no intension of renewal post 2026. I have just sold 4 of my collection, and hoping to sell even more, to get down to a handful.

Full cost recovery.

What does that mean? Full costs of administering the firearms licensing system, or the full cost of that and keeping the youth legal?

Each force will charge different amounts, BCH can't seem to get anyone to work for them so that'll mean they could offer higher a salary to attract more FEOs (yeah, right).

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.

We already have full cost recovery, its what the last increase in fees was supposed to be, based upon an entirely electronic system. Not only did the increase in revenue not get spent on said system, they've failed to update the fees in line with inflation as I believe they were supposed to. But yet again their failings will be our problems. 8-) teanews

Are BCH advertising FEO jobs?
