Hello
What did you expect in this now Stalinist, Starsi, two tier policing non democratic country that we find ourselves living in, there are so many intrusive laws and dictates' that you can be locked up for a multitude of minor infractions, free speech being one of them, TV licenses. parking being two that spring to mind.

Two referees required for SGC and a consultation on moving shotguns to section 1 FAC status. The 'consultation' means nothing but a box ticking exercise, they will do what they want whatever the responses are to the 'consultation'. A lot of shotguns on the market when that comes into effect.

Peter.

‘Plain bonkers’ is rather candid language. I do wonder how the ECHR would assess such desired laws as being appropriate or not.

For the record appointed Health and Safety Inspectors have the power to enter any premises they have good reason to believe they have the right to enter at any reasonable reasonable time or if their opinion there is a risk of danger at any time. Their certificate of appointment is their warrant, no need to go to a magistrate. They can require a constable to accompany them to prevent a breach of the peace.
I know this because I was an appointed HS inspector under the Act. Domestic premises are normally outside the Act unless you are storing explosives then they are.

As do planning/planning enforcement officers and a myriad of other 'officials'. The difference being of course none of the others can deprive you of your freedom if they see something they don't like (and probably have little to no idea what they're looking at)
