Range Day

This weekend is my first outing of the year on a MOD range a oportunity to do some long range shooting. Hmm except my normal long range shooting would consist of shooting a 6.5 Creedmoor now banned. Shooting a Tikka in 6.5x55 now banned. I originally shot a Steyr in .308 but sold it to finance the 6.5 Creedmoor bad move. I used to shoot .222 but sold it in preference to the 6.5x55 bad move.
I sold my P14 because of eye sight problems bad move (May be).
So tonight I did check on my cabinets contents and to be realistic my only options are a MAS36. .303 Enfields and a AIA in 7.62 x39 all with iron sights that I can not focus with.
Probably wont bother to be honest.

I struggled with the original sights on my no.4 Enfield so I put a very good quality no-drill scope rail on and a 1-4 Simmons scope. Makes all the difference and can be put back to original in minutes. I think there's a rail same as mine on sale here at the moment?
Doesn't help your 6.5 issue but....

Any update on the ban?
Is that it?
All civilian shooting of 6.5 calibre rifles on MoD ranges is now banned no options?

@Alpha1, don't let the FEO know you have a load of rifles you don't want to or can't shoot.

The last update I heard was that the safety templates "are being reviewed" but as expected there's no ETA on a decision date.

Well I went along the Weather was OK a bit Chilly but bright enough. I shot the No4 no idea were the rounds went I have a scope mount for it but I would sell it before fitting a scope. A scope does not belong on a No4. I shot the Mas36 no idea were the rounds went but there was a lot of interest in the rifle. I could of sold at least four of them if I had them to sell.
It was good to catch up with old friends I spoke to a couple guys in the know about re barreling the 6.5x55 and the Ruger precision in .308. We will see.

Fox Firearms have plenty of blanks. Which Ruger do you have?

I have the Ruger precision rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor. Ruger do pre threaded and chambered barrels in .308 in varies lengths and profiles but you have to import them into the UK. You need a RFD dealer to purchase one on you behalf and import it. I know some one who has done that but I don't have any friendly RFD dealers that would do that for me.
Brownels stock them.
