As you can see I live in West Yorkshire - I used to be in the "Bootnecks" and am hoping to join Diggle as they seem a very competive crowd and get around the country -Not knowing what the probationery period will entail - I would like to try the McQueens and Tactical as it sounds very similar to the snap shooting I did in the forces but obviously not semi auto - I have hunted High and Low on the Internet but cannot find the calibre for this " Competition" could any one help me so I have an idea of what I am doing before my appointment with Vince in November, also it will give me a chance to price some kit - can anyone recommend a a long eye relief budget Scope as I was used to "Iron Sights on SLR" and the best method if I should be accepted to zero it in for this style of competition. Roll on and not long now

I've not shot the McQueens but I'm sure you can shoot it any calibre, you just need something that you can cycle fairly quickly with a reasonable scope to see what you're shooting at

Welcome to the forum Dave. I use 7,62x51/,308 for the McQueen with a normal relief 16X 'scope which gives a good field of view across the castle at 200m. I also for the most use milsurp for McQueen as it seems like the right thing to do in the spirit of the competition and can usually do OK.

McQueen can in theory be shot with anything and 6,5x47 seems popular amongst the top shooters along with 6BR however some are single feeding with F Class type rigs that takes the fun out of it in mye yes, Having said that the win and I don't!

Duffeyeddoyle of this forum has been known to shoot McQueen once or twice along with a few others who will hopefully see this thread and Vince was on here a little while ago

Thanx for the tips so far am quite sure there will be more to come and in my view one can never have enough information.
