Help K98

Salut,
I spotted this K98 advertissed as a matching # Kriegsmarine one.
http://www.kirkemmerich.co.uk/fac-rifle ... 98k-rifle/
It looks very nice but after calling the seller, despite the sale descriptive, if the serial numbers on the butt plate and the hand-guard band do match, they actually do not match at all with the 1157 # of the mechanism...
So it looks to me, that it is a "normal" k98 sitting in a Kriegmarine stock more than a 100% KM K98.
My question really is on the floor plate and trigger guard.
It looks to me like a late war stamped metal one but bears the serial # 1157 matching the receiver .
But the receiver is a Mauser Obendorf (42) made in 1939 and I would have expected a milled floor plate on such early gun.
Am I missing something or this floor plate has been re-numbered ?
Could it have been done legit & period by a regimental armourer or do you think it is a post war fraud ?
To me it does not really make sense. Am I paranoid ?
Thanks for your help
