Cracked wooden stock - fix needed

I bought this stock at a slightly knocked down price as it had a crack in the laminate. It was clear at the time and I was to be proved correct, that this crack is only cosmetic and does not affect the strength of the stock as it does not take any weight.
I as wondering if there are any quick fix ways that I could pour, squeeze, rub etc, some compound in to both make the area stronger, but also hide the crack.
I am not intending on selling the rifle at the moment, but it would help in the future if it was not so obvious,

Hard to tell with the picture, is it just a case of one of the layers de-laminating or worse?

Used a library picture tonight, will have to venture into the very cold attic tomorrow and get a close up picture,

With such a small amount of wood in the butt area, you could use a pin glued in. Simply drill a hole from the bottom and glue in a threaded rod using bedding epoxy coloured to suit. I usually use 1/4" or 5/16" threaded rod. Don't use plain round rod, as it won't stay in place.

The crack runs horizontal on where the cheek peice joins the pistol grip - not the pistol grip.

Agree with woody_rod on the repair.
That is a 10/22???
I have a brand new OEM laminated stock for a 10/22 bull barrel rifle if you want it?

I have had some success with stock cracks using super-glue. A bead of super-glue over the crack, left in such a position that gravity will help it run into the crack and then remove the surplus when well hardened (up to two days) with a razor blade. Hardened super-glue looks like varnish.

Is it just in the lacquer finish? Or is it right through several layers of the laminate. If the latter you really do have a problem.
A pin (or two) of threaded stainless steel or brass may be required to hold it together. If you feel you need to pin it then get a 3mm diameter rod and drill a long 2.5mm hole through. Lock two nuts on the end of the studding and screw it into the hole - you will be cutting a thread. Then remove it and repeat a couple of times. The get some gorilla glue (it foams and expands) put a small amount in the hole and screw the studding in until about 5mm from coming through, add a spot more glue to the thread and continue to inset leaving the leading end either flush or just below the surface. Trim the end and refinish.

Does anyone know how to remove super glued fingers from a stock...
Only kidding, but as that is the least intrusive idea so far I may give that a go.
As I have no vice, I am reluctant to go at the stock with my electric drill, whilst gripping the stock between my knees!
The offer of a stock is kind, but I have spent enough on this set up already. All in, I could have got myself one of those SGC 9mm AR's had I the money all at one time.
Thanks for the detailed replies,
DM
