One of my dogs ruptured its cruciate ligament a couple of weeks ago, and she has just come back from the vets after having TPLO Surgery (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) basically they cut the top off the tibia and reset it at a different angle. she is not very happy at having to spend 4 weeks with no walks! She had the other side done last year and you would never know now.

Ouch, it sounds painful and ever so annoying for the dog having to be without walks.
Our Weim paces the house if he does not get out and that is even when he has something wrong with him, he limps and still wants to go.
Hope it all goes well

I have seen a few dogs that have had "that" done, & it has struck me as a rather heath-robinson fix to the problem, but, hey, all it has to do is work! and work it most certainly does... Good on you for getting them done for her. It is fantastic that such things are possible, and I take my hat off to the skill of the surgeons who can sort such things....
One of our working collies got a leg de-gloved in a trap. Cost a ****dy fortune to fix, artificial skin and all sorts, and took ages, six weeks, I think. But the vets were amazing, and there isn't a scar in sight. a friend who is a retired anaesthetist reckons her mobility is about 99% of what she was, so, I think that'll do then!! She wasn't keen on the inactivity tho!
