Greetings from the North

Hi folks,

I've been shooting for a good few years now, but never in the UK! I've always shot in and around Switzerland. Of which it has been a few years now, in no small part due to rising petrol costs and everything else we have to put up with as proud British people :-)

So why Switzerland? I guess I must come clean, I am "one of them", I like double taps, BSA templates, 5 round engagements, nomex and dirty tactical things :-) There I said it, please don't lynch me :-0
On a more serious note, I am kind of semi-aware that there is maybe some friction in that kind of discipline? I haven't joined to stir the pot or kick the hornets nest as it were. But at an early age I was inducted into the more self-protection aspect of unarmed combat and along with it (ableit at a later age 18), firearms. So thats what I grew into.

Also I am not some super death ninja, ex or serving military. I just enjoy training, I like pushing my limits but safety is always paramount!

Outside of shooting I also look after rescue staffies, I had two in my pack a boy and girl, one passed in November and the other is still going strong. Plans are a foot to probably home another at some point.

Cheers :-)

Firsty, hello and welcome to the forum

Feel free to ask any questions you need, I'm sure there will be a'plenty of answers for you.

As to the tacti-cool side of things, don't worry, we're not all traditional single-shot, target rifle, people here. We're more limited to the laws of the land as it were. For me, I'm more into classic miliatry rifle, but if the law said I was allowed a 9mm USP then yeah, I'd be blatting plates like a good'un too O:-)

Do you have any specific question on FAC?

Oh, before you're asked - list where you're from - it can be done in the User Control Panel.

Again, welcome :good:

Hello Tower,

I did have some FAC questions, but I thought it probably best to put them in the relevant section, I've edited the title now :-)

Hehe thats good to know, I'll update my profile.

Welcome Oscar.

No worries with the double tap side of things, the Viking and I shoot in Denmark at least once a year and I will shoot pistol plus semi and full auto things when I get the opportunity and spend time with my own black rifle on knock downs and random exposure Huns heads at 600m. Having said that I also get a lot of pleasure from shooting at half MOA V’s at 1000/1200 yards, in fact anything over 600 is good as far as I am concerned.

So are you going to shoot in the UK now?

Staffies are good little things, my son has one that is incredibly gentle and patient with his 2 year old daughter. You need to post some pictures!

Oscar,

Where abouts in Yorkshire? Obviously the wrong side of the Pennines but if you are close to Altcar (Merseyside) drop me a line.

Would love to post some videos of Switzerland, but cameras aren't allowed on range! :bad:
