Hi

Just thought i'd introduce myself quickly.
Have been shooting now for a few years.
Enjoy all aspects of field sports.
Do a fair bit of shotgun shooting - Clays and game.
Have a couple of rifles - .22 finfire .17HMR HW60 and a Steyr .223
Just passed my DSC1 and doing a bit of stalking.
Will be doing a variation soon for a 260rem and 308 ( maybe)
Quite fancy having a go at some target shooting at some extended ranges....soon i hope!

Cheers for now

Sean

Welcome to F-B(UK) Sean.

How do you find the Steyr .223? I have often looked at them, Steyr have a good name and .223 is handy as well.

We have a few of everything here including target and long range so you should be OK and I still keep thinking about doing my DSC1 even though I am a target shooter, if only to understand a bit more about that side of things.

Sean,

Welcome.

There are plenty of fullbore forummers who can help you with doing some longer range shooting.

You only have to ask.

And tick a few boxes!

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Ovenpaa - I really like the Steyr. I use it for foxing mainly although have shot it at the local range out to 300yds.
Loves factory 40g Norma vmax! Being a left hooker shooting a right handed rifle i particularly like the safety position.
I believe its a 1 in 9 twist so would like to try some heavier ammo once the rest of the reloading gear has arrived!
Forster coax press just arrived yesterday!
So much retail therapy to be had with this reloading caper!

Christel - Location updated!

Cheers

The Forster Co-Ax... I like Forster gear and use Forster Dies for 90% of the rifles in the house, can you post your opinion on thr Forster when you get used to it please? Most of the reviews I have seen are American and something local would be interesting.

1:9 - That will get you into some heavier stuff. Christel shoots with the 80 grain SMK but I think she has a 1:8 twist on her rifle.
