HI all
I have just got a new jacket that fits great accept for one problem how it fits with my HPS Gemini System buttplate. From what i see at bisley and other comps i have been to i never see anyone using a hook or anything as fancy as you see in smallbore. What I am really wanting to know if there is a ruling or reason why no one is using a hook.
Any information on the matter will be much appreciated
Thanks very much

Yes, there is a rule. Maximum depth of curvature 20mm, from memory.
[After a quick check: Rule 150: 'Stock and Butt'].
You sometimes see hooks in MR.

hi again
with a bit of lookking around at home and at the club I have found a different but plate, but I don't know if it legal.
Anyone can tell me if it legal that would be great.
thanks very much

It would depend what you do with the flaps. If the flaps are positioned such that the maximum depth is more than 20mm it would be illegal. If the maximum depth is less than 20mm then it would be legal. It is all in the flaps. The same goes for the HPS butt plate in the first picture.

The NRA scrutineers have a butt gauge.
It's a bit of 2 x 1 timber with a 20mm high bar in the middle. Put it against the butt, if it can be positioned so that it doesn't rock it's legal.
Of course, there are other sorts of butt that rock when pressed ...

Pressing those butts can also make your ears ring
