Does anyone know of another importer that brings in Volquartsen bits and pieces? Even a European dealer (who speaks English.. )
I've been trying to get hold of Roger at SYSS for the last couple of weeks. Phone isn't answered and emails not replied to.... Hope they're alright...
Anyway, I have a VQ 10/22 that has a competition bolt. I need a new recoil spring and guide rod. Midway don't list them and Brownells stock the bolt with the spring and rod, but don't do the spring or rod separately. And, VQ won't retail internationally......
Any help, anywhere.....?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!
Have you tried Rude Fat Dog? I'm sure they sell VQ stuff. Also noticed that Stockade sell comp ready 10/22s so would assume they may have.VQ parts. Failing that and if not ITAR prohibited, use a US postal address.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
Viking Arms, the other VQ importer, don't have them. They even suggested trying an independant dealer who grey imports the stuff! Na, he didn't have one either. Rude Fat Dog seems like a big blank as well, but if they come across one, they'll email me. I'll try Roger at SYSS again tomorrow, but at the minute, not looking good.
Brownells and a couple of other US suppliers list the Comp Bolt which comes with the dedicated recoil rod and spring, but the only one's listing them separately are Volquatsen themselves!!
I've just pinged them an email. At first, it was going to be in a begging style, but they've alraedy told me they won't deal with international customers on a retail basis, even though they do for US customers. So, in my usual "cuts nose off to spite face" approach, I've sent them a right, proper snot-o-gram!!!
Guess this gun will have to sit in the cabinet till 2014 when we next plan to go to the US. We're staying in a villa, so I'll have a bloody US address then!!!!

You are welcome to use my address if you wish? You buy the part, give them the US address and it is sent to Kentucky and then I/you arrange for onward delivery to the UK. Simples. You just need to check that the part isn't prohibited.
