Just noticed that there is a very rare Marlin 1894P on the SYSS web site for the ridiculously low price of £550.
16" ported barrel in 44mag, what's not to like about it!

I had one of those, real short! Nice tho,a club buddie of mine bought it from me to do bianchi and practical. Folk say it annoys other shooters becase of the ported barrel but I must admit to standing beside it and not really noticing............even at 50m its accuracy was pretty much if not identical to its longer sisters,I couldent say how it would perform in long range carbine tho!

Although they are 'rare', I gather it was because it didn't sell that well so was withdrawn. I guess it has some additional value for Marlin collectors. But are they worth much more than the other variants?
£550 is about what I paid for mine - give or take a bit of wife adjustment tax.
Bought it for speed shoots rather than accuracy, I think it handles really well. I haven't noticed any issues with accuracy, but then I rarely use it at more than 25 yds anyway.
The portng is a bit of a gimmick if you ask me, it's loud with factory :G .
But with mild target loads its not much louder than any other short-ish barrel marlin.
eh? what? who said that?
