This patio heater was not made in China. :o It was made in the 'Good Ole USA' by the Uniflame Corporation in Zion Illinois. I bought it at a local garden centre for £50 ten years ago. It lives outdoors the whole year round and it still starts first time every time with its electrical ignition system. We love it, it extends by hours the time we can sit out in the garden. Highly recommended. :good:

We need a picture Chuck :good:

I am always surprised that people will spend good money on something because it comes from the USofA yet when it arrives it says 'Made in China' or the latest one is 'Designed in America and made in China' - Does that really make a difference?

I make 99.9% of my own things and only buy in the odd parts like grub screws however I had to get some Phenolic plastic M8 thumbscrews the other day, I could buy in the UK however I opted to try some from HK, they were with me a week later, were of a cracking quality, really good with stainless inserts and were under a third of the price of the UK ones and I honestly believe the ones I had sourced in the UK probably came from China as well.

More to the point the extra tenner for the thumbscrew would have priced the item out of the market.

Jenks,
what you need to go with that is one of thesehttp://www.brinkmann.net/images/product ... 80-E-l.jpg
We have just brought a new one to replace one that lasted nearly 12 years. We cook and smoke food on it at least once a week throughout the year-rain, snow and shine! Neighbors must think we are mad cooking in the snow but they certainly enjoy the surplus smoked trout, salmon, chicken and beef when we take it round :good:

I just took receipt of a parcel from R C comps, two things both labelled 'Made in China' on the packaging, over thirty quids worth that I could probably get them for under half delivered from HK or similar however I needed them for this week...

Meaty..

I'm not a fan of smoked food, with the exception of smoked Salmon. In fact if I was honest Im not really keen on food cooked outdoors. Can't stand the usual BBQ type fare, I normally fill my self up with Salad and wine ;) We Have a fire basket that we light up occasionally it works really well with pallet wood but does consume rather a lot in a short space of time.

I have absolutely nothing against goods made in China. I was just expressing my pleasure to find something that wasn't made there, that was very well made, reasonably priced, and has stood the test of time.

A friend has one thing that was made in China and he would certainly not swap it for one made in the USA or UK ... His wife!
