This is a photo of my daughter Beth, aged 19 weeks old - swimming underwater!! - we have been taking her swimming since she was 12 weeks old and she loves it.

Great picture Mike, someone at work did the same from a very early age with her son and has a similar picture. It is scary how you can dunk such a little one into water and they just instinctively hold their breaths and swim.

Spud,

We take her to a class every week and swim with her on our own at least once more each week (usually more if time permits). By the time she reaches school age, she should be a confident swimmer in her own right. She already has no fear whatsover of water (makes bath time much easier!) and seems to really enjoy her sessions in the pool.

She is now 25 weeks old, she still cannot situp unaided and is not yet crawling - but is happy and confident in the pool!! (although could not be left unattended or even let go of for more than short periods - they are better underwater at this age!)
