Shoulder Bump gauges

My new lathe motor turned up yesterday morning so I spent the afternoon fitting it and hooking it up to the 24v DC power supply I picked up just before Christmas.

First project was to build some bump gauges to fit the Hornady Lock-N-Load Bullet Comparator Body, and here they are, I built one of these at the end of last year to measure shoulder bump and had promised a couple more to people, I ended up with five! They work with .308 parent cases, SAUM. WSM etc.

The Bump gauges are not a problem. Not sure about the Wilson Shehane case holder, I have a drawing for the Shehane chamber reamer but no guaging for it. Best bet would be to get an undersized Wilson case holder and ask whoever is chambering your barrel to see if he can run the chamber reamer through the holder, the problem is going to be just how hard the holder you use is....

I can build you a universal bump gauge to suit 6mm to .308. Do you have a couple of Comparator Bodies and are they the red ones or green ones? (Hornady or SincInt) If you have two I can build you the insert to hold the base of the cartridge as well, I would build for a .284 which will also work with the .308 and will mean you can measure the length to a shoulder juncture before pushing the primer out.

They would come with an alignment dowel so you are confident the top and bottom comparator bodies are perfectly aligned.

Cost... Try them and see what you think first as I am looking for feedback at the moment, they are going to be cheap whatever ;)
