Hey Guys

Having done a quick search of the forum, I have found EFD have been mentioned before, but has anyone actually gone to see them?
The reason I ask is I'm due to go down tomorrow to check out a P14 they have fore sale, but having had a phone call earlier confirming my appointment all they would give me is a post code and said call us when you get near by as the post code is around a mile out.

So has anyone been to see them and can send me on the right track so I don't waste anymore time trying to find them?

Hi Dave,

I can confirm I have been to them (EFD in East Sussex yes?), they gave me a postcode and then the location when I call them. They are very helpful, I took my Dads .303 to them for a battle sight, he fitted it FoC and showed me there stock, very nice T model in there stocklist at that time.

I found them a bit grumpy and unhelpful when I bought a striker removal tool from them and asked a few basic questions about refinishing my No.4 - they weren't really interested in speaking to anyone who doesn't have white hair, or so was the impression I got. Personally tend to avoid them now but others seem to have good experiences with them.

I got talking to them one lunchtime at the 600 firing point on Century, they emptied the back of the car out to show me the WWI Enfield snipers they had at the time and at no point did I ever say I wanted to buy, it was entirely down to me being interested. They seemed fine to me.

I am in my 50's greying hair and a beard so an ideal candidate I suppose.

Just an update. I made a happy purchase of a ERA P14, Jim and their American associate on the day were both very friendly and helpful, no sales bullshit from Jim which I like. A very impressive collection, making the effort to show me a No. 1 Mk.V and a No.I Mk.I

Also regarding the grey hair, I'm under 25 with long blonde hair and a beard and still went down well

Does a kilt count???

To be honest it may have been the female company I had with me that sorted it

Ach, what is it about my journoness that carries around with me! Maybe I just caught EFD on an off day or something.
