Tactical .22 rifles
Hi every one, well I've been searching the net for a good .22 tactical style rifle I've seen the issc mk22 which looks not to bad seems to have good reviews and the hk 416 d10rs I'm looking more to the hk at the mo but I thought I would throw it out there and ask is there any other m4 style rifles I should be looking at.
Another option is a Remington 597 tvp or a ruger 10 22 tactical which is opposite but I like the look of both, they seem to be good starting points.
Help this newbie decide.

I wouldn't touch the Issc unless its the better Anschutz version

If you have the money for the HK, I'd honestly suggest that you go for a CMMG avilable from Lantac or NWCP. Full mil-spec and not made of plastic or monkey metal. Will also allow you to add a dedicated 223/300AAC upper in the future should you wish.
Customer service from Lantac is also first class.

Hi JCDJ,
Welcome to the site.
Let me shove in my two pence worth, having shot the S&W MP15 last week and being the proud owner of a Spikes ST-22 I would not touch the MP15. Nothing to do with looks or accuracy but just that it is basically plastic and I prefer the heavier metal feel of my Spikes.
As Mike says the CMMG is another option I have heard good things about them.

Hi mate and welcome
I had one of the Colt M4's and it was fine until it needed cleaning which was a PITA!! I started getting lots of feed jams.
Most Semi's have quirks regarding preferred ammo however CCI now have a dedicated .22 AR ammo which a guy had at my club last weekend and fed 350 through his Southern Gun V22 without a single jam!!
From what I've read on the t'interweb the HK rifles are excellent, however I concur that it might be worth investing in a CMMG or such, there are couple on Guntrader.
It's the old story of how much do you want to spend

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools!!

My V-22 gets to about 350-400 depending on the ammo then needs 5 minutes with a toothbrush and a can of squirty stuff to make it all happy again.20series wrote:Hi mate and welcome

Not a big issue/problem
...oh, and my V-22 is still up for sale
Re: Tactical .22 rifles
I'm going for the 15-22 when my FAC eventually turns up. I've seen them perform well in multi gun comps which does it for me. I had issues with a ruger 10/22 in the same event (down to magazines)
I've seen a spikes st-22 have cycling/FTF on CCI mini mags in poor weather conditions so that put me off that one.
15-22 is a good price point, would rather polymer over monkey metal.
If money isn't a factor, go for a lantac, or a Bradley arms if you can get one!

I could make you an utterly derisory offer......saddler wrote:...oh, and my V-22 is still up for sale
It would be a serious offer, not close to what you're after for it, but probably the best you've had since putting it up for sale.....
Guns, expensive to buy, cheap to sell! emrolleyes
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

That's not the gun, it's Comp Sod's Law!!
I have a 1200 quid Volquartsen 10/22 with a dozen and a half genuine Ruger mags. All through training, thousands of rounds of ammo, not one glitch. Not a single stoppage......
Three in my first Bianchi...... on the same stage, with different mags!!
