Ford advert

#1 Post by whoowhoop »

I caught the new Ford advert tonight and it took me straight back to my teens and herbal cigarettes.
And Stacia clapclap :shakeshout: clapclap ( was that the name of their dancer?)

When was this? I remember Hawkwind but was never a great fan.

This was my thing as a teenager http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs3kKHhG4m0

It would be about 72 or 73.
They would play almost anywhere that let them in.
Saw a lot of good ( and a lot of s*** ) bands around then, mostly for nothing or very cheap tickets.
Saw Head, hands and feet too and never realised that half of them were Chas n Dave. :o

I must admit it did make me smile when I realised it was Hawkwind as the background music to the advert. I still listen to them to this day and am proud to say I introduced them to the Viking. We even went and saw them at Cambridge Corn Exchange a few years ago, sadly it was too loud which made me feel very old.

First time I ever saw them was at the Corn Exchange back in either '72 or '73

To this day the Hawkwind version of Gimme Shelter is one of my all time favourites.

Likewise, although it always seems to be a challenge getting time to listen to anything properly these days. I have also seen them many times over the years - you never know what or who you're going to get from tour to tour so there's always an element of surprise.
