Bench rest starter rife.

Well I'm still waiting for my FAC to arrive but the search is on for what to get!

I'm looking to get 2 .22 rifles at the same time. One semi auto, undecided on that, the other a bolt action bench rest rifle.

I'm on a budget at the moment with Christmas coming up and a large shopping list .

How do you rate the Vostok CM2 rifle? Good starter rifle?
I've seen a few for cheap, but mounting a scope seems to be problematic since there is no forward rail?
What sort of cost would a gunsmith want for this?

Also looking at Anschutz Match 64, 54 and 1813s though their prices seems to fluctuate.

Why not consider any of the bolt CZ's and a Ruger 10/22 semi I have both in .22 but have larger calibers I am not a 'Bench Rester' just use prone and use a 243 and 7.62(308) for outdoors, more fun.

Yeah it's not as fun but we shoot 50 yards bench rest quite regularly at my club and semi-autos are not allowed for the discipline.
Found a nice Anschutz Match 64 at the right price. May put a deposit down, unless you lot can convince me otherwise.

A 10/22 is at the back of my mind as a fall back. I do like the idea of a .22 AR15 such as a CMMG or a Lantac, but they're a bit out of budget at the moment. Though it would allow me to get a straight pull upper rather than 2 dedicated rifles.

With regards to CZ. Any particular model I should look at?

Have you considered a BSA Martini? There are a good few out there and a good one can be found for very little money. Quite an easy job to get one scoped up and they are bloody accurate as well. I have a Mk IV and a 1215 both of which cost me less than £100-the 1215 I paid £35 for (and it shoots better than I do)

Well I just put a deposit down on a Match 64. Price was too good to let it go.

Where can I buy an adjustable target stock for it?

There is a lot to be said for the old Martini International's the first .22LR I ever shot was an International and only today I have been asked to look at supplying front and rear bag riders and 'scope brackets as a kit for them.

I have always put off personally owning a .22LR mostly due to the lack of a suitable local range however I have decided to join one of the clubs at Clapham for testing and zeroing (Assuming they will have me!) So all of a sudden a reasonable .22LR becomes appealing.

We have plenty of people shoot custom made bench rest rifles etc.. But the 2 rifles that do the best? An 1813 supermatch and a BSA international
