Hmm, interesting watch, although I'd love to get stuck in there and save them some money. Some of their processes are stuck in the dark ages, especially pressing/preparing the cases. We stamp over 1 billion metal components a year (hearing aid batteries) to similar tolerances, with less malleable materials (nickel plated stainless steel and nickel/stainless steel/copper triclad material) in progressive press tools which go from start to finish, rather than change press 3 or 4 times. Also their wash system seems somewhat antiquated, solvent degreasing takes minutes and is incredibly efficient in comparison to rotary baths and rinse/driers (although some States struggle with environmental laws regarding chlorinated solvents).

I think I'll start looking to see if they have any process engineering positions opening up :lol:

It is going to get harder to get cci for a bit over here as most people are struggling to get 223 ammo in the US for a good price so are buying Lr instead to shoot with Burner and Blu will know more also the price might go up as well.

I know of one small precision engineering company in the US who moved their operation from one state to another for several reasons including restrictions on the types of chemicals/solvents they could use.

We'll have the same problem shortly no doubt. Currently we use Trichloroethylene which is all but banned in the US as it is a carcinogen, but we have just purchased another degreaser for £160K which uses Perchloroethylene and is much safer (and is what is typically used in both the US and Europe now over the regs and unstable future use regarding Trike.)

Interesting factoid:
Our plant in the UK only came to be because at the time when it belonged to Timex, it was too difficult to make certain battery chemistries in the US because of the chemicals/heavy metals in them (Mercury) and some of the chemicals required for processing. So Timex was bought out and we became what we are today

yeah not many .223 around at moment and there putting the prices up of the ones in stock
and .22 blazers are in short supply our club wont be getting any more untill next month was paying £2.60 a box for .22 now paying £4 for eley`s
