We took it from 8.950 kilo's to 8.150

That was 0.8 kg in one day!!! :o

I foresee a "naked oil wrestling match" vs some members for the "Beast" tongueout

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to use gun grease?

Right it looks like I've bought my first rifle. I opted for the LANTAC LA-R15 SBR MOD-01 Raven Custom Rifle. Straight Pull .223/5.56mm. with a .22 conversion kit for an extra £300, so that gives me a rifle I can shoot indoors and out, perfect. I will buy a remington 700, a DolphinGun F class beastie and an Enfield .303, but they'll be my 2nd, 3rd and 4th guns... For now and considering where my interest lies, I think I've made the right choice. It isn't cheap, but the best stuff never is.

Does anyone have any experience of the .22 conversion kits for the .223 Lantacs?

Cheers,

Craig.

Well done & congrats on choice clapclap party2

As my intention is also to get a .22 upper Raven I'll watch with interest how yours comes along. His .22 uppers are excellent so no problems, very easy to change the uppers over, just remove 2 push pins and away you go.

Thanks! :shakeshout:

I haven't paid my deposit yet, but I will in the next day or so, so I can still amend the quote if necessary. Incidentally I requested the forged upper and lower receiver, not the newer billet finish/design.

Do you know how much the .22 uppers are? The Spike's Tactical uppers seem to be in the £700 range, so I assumed they would be similarly priced. £300 (ish) was cheap by comparison, although I concede I will lose a bit of accuracy because of the barrel.

What colour did you request for the furniture. I had asked for dark earth, but I've just realised I actually meant foliage green (a bit colour blind..), however I think I might go for black now... Not sure how gimmicky the colour is. Any thoughts?

Before anyone says that with £300 you could buy 2 x BSA .22 rifles, I know. whilst I've passed my club probation, I still haven't passed Mrs HALODIN's probationary period and the initial agreement was only 1 rifle to see how it all went. If it keeps the peace, I don't mind spending a bit more, at least I'll get to shoot at both ranges with the same rifle.

I presume a .22 conversion kits or a spare upper takes up a full slot on your FAC, is this right?

I went for the billet upper / lower receiver and I'm keeping everything black and quite simple for now.

In regards to the .22 upper, you need to let your local firearms officer know what you're planning. From what I understand, the serial number for the AR is located on the lower, so the upper does not have a serial number. Paul suggested I chat with my firearms officer and see how they want it on the FAC as it could be considered as 2 firearms on one slot.

£300 def seems cheap, I'm sure Paul was suggesting a figure in the region of £1500 for the Lantac Raven .22 upper; hence why I haven't ordered it yet.

OK thanks. Even if it's considered 2 slots (.22 + .223/5.56) I'm still covered on my FAC, but I'll talk to him when he pays me a visit. I guess if I'm not happy with the accuracy of the .22 conversion bolt/mag, I'll probably buy a semi-auto Spike's Tactical for £1K, but I need to see one first.

Yes you can't go wrong with black... Make sure you post pics when it arrives!

Will do. I'm already counting the days and approx build time is still 8 weeks away :bad: I've always been more of an instanct gratification sort of person so this waiting is killing me.

I guess you can add me to that instant gratification list as well...I only started with my club 14 weeks ago and so far I've bought my first rifle, a 10 unit gun safe and submitted my FAC. Yesterday isn't soon enough!

I look forward to seeing some pictures when it arrives. :good:
