There are two on Guntrader at the moment, a Para spec at £2495 (probably the one referred to above) and an Imbel at £1950. Both a little above budget. Grates a bit when I've seen genuine ex British Army SLR's on sale in Europe at Eur.650 a go.

so could you not buy one and have it converted ?
or buy it in parts ?
or am i missing something as surely they started out that way ?

Can't get one converted, as others will testify, once Section 5, always Section 5. The only way to do it (as I understand) would be to buy a batch of them, break them all down and then re-assemble mixing the parts up and adding a few new bits that mean it couldn't be modified to self load.

In theory TWO possibly - esp if they are different makers/years
