Yeah I'm taking that advice :lol: the 8 gun is the bigest one that will fit in my cupboard under the stairs "if" I fill it I may just have to adapt my wardrobe, we have an alcove in one of the bedrooms that the kid's ones shoud fit in, but there's no rush for that, the cupboard under the stairs needs sorting out soon though.

Yes the cabinet I'm after says 6-8 scoped http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-SHOTGUN-6-8 ... 1c2035f5f5 I am thinking about an extra large Ammo safe too, not just for ammo, but then the bigger the better seems to be the favoured approach :lol:

Very true - on paper my cabinets should hold 14 guns, but it's only 70cm of width altogether...

In reality it's only going to hold 10 guns - 5 rifles, 3 shotguns, a BP revolver and LBR snuck in there too. Any more than that and it'd be very difficult to get stuff in out out (especially without things getting bashed and scratched).

Yep - was also thinking about mounting a hook / bracket to one of the retaining bolts on the inside. I'll know for sure once the cabs start to get filled.

Anyhoo, my certificate is due for delivery by the end of this week apparently

Well, picked up my certificate earlier this week and I've managed to fill two of my slots so far.

I saw a Marlin and a Rossi in my local gun shop and the Marlin just felt miles better quality. Only snag was that they only had a new one - about £300 over my budget. Instead, I managed to pick up a used Marlin 1894 CS yesterday. The stock had a few knocks and scrapes, so I oiled the marks which hides them pretty well. A jolly good clean and tightening up a few fixings, this was the result:



Today I popped down to see Meaty to see the Uberti NMA he had for sale. Bought it off him, getting a batch of accessories thrown in too. Overall very tidy, with only light signs of use:



Next on the list with equal priority is an S1 shotgun for PSG and a decent .22LR semi - I might end up stuck eating beans for a few months unless I find a few bargins.

The lever action nearly didn't happen - I originally went to see another LA at a dealer after seeing it online, ringing to confirm they still had it available etc.

When I got there, only then do they remember someone had already put a deposit on it. :cool2: The also had the Marlin, which was a little more expensive, but a bit scruffy - so I ended up taking that, but I think it cleaned up well.
