Time to join the NRA ?
Well oomans, we're thinking it might be time to join the NRA. We've held back for several years as the NRA didn't seem to offer much for the money, and we had some doubts about its commitment to supporting shooting in this country - it certainly didn't seem as active as the BASC (of which we are a member).
However, we think we may detect a wind a change. Over the last month or two we have read a few things on these fora that give us cautious optimism: a more pro-active attitude towards supporting shooting in the press, action taken to bring in money and now even action being taken to keep the toilets clean. Small steps, but encouraging. Perhaps it's now time for us to join up.

Funny you say that, I've just finished filling in my application which will be going in the post tomorrow.

Talking of 'small steps'...that's what you'll need to use, for the toilets at Bisley razzmeles meles wrote: now even action being taken to keep the toilets clean. Small steps, but encouraging.

Hmmm, another 100 miles on the round trip than for me....though I went up to Bisley for a 3 hour shoot 2 weeks ago, and it was well worth it...
I've got to be careful here, as I'm opening up a can of worms about the NRA being Bisley-centric....but as you say, with other benefits like the recent representation in the press etc. then membership can still be attractive to those who don't get to Bisley.

If you want to book targets at Bisley as an individual and or shoot in the Imperial meeting then join, if you don't then don't bother.
