Its all already been said, but for my two penneth worth i just use the cheapest stuff i can get at the time! clapclap I usually just use 28g #7.5 70mm clay type cartridges which work fine, providing you're not shooting at distances of over 15ish metres (on normal plates), or the large 'gong' type plates.

My local RFD has just got a boatload of 29g (random) #6's 65mm carts in which i was a bit wary of because as has been mentioned semi's sometimes don't like short cartridges but they work fine in my M2 :shakeshout:

Try a box (or 2) before you buy in bulk i guess is the message

I guess i'll have to suck it and see.
I see you're a member at Worcester Norton. Have a chat with Neil Smith next time you are at the club, he shoots both pump and semis and would have a good idea of what is available in your area.

Also, have you signed up to the F4i forums? (http://four4islands.org/forum/) worcester norton puts on F4i series matches, and the guys from there go all over the place for others too.
Will do. Do you know if any of the WNSC PSG guys are on here? They have a PSG shoot on the 28th. If not I'll just turn up.

Primer wrote:Also if you are recoil sensitive (like my wife) then some cartridges give you a bigger kick than others as we found out on Sunday where I had brought a slab of Eley firsts 7.5 65mm fibre which were giving us a much bigger kick than the lyevale express English sporters 7.5 70mm fibre did the weekend before, so much so the wife stopped shooting due to the pain they were giving her, that was through a couple of club pumps ( mine a supernova and hers was a Hatsan Escort), so wouldn't be so bad through a semi. I only got the eley's as they had no 70mm fibre in 28gram at sportsman and were £39.50 for 250 compared to £50 for the others via my club, guess I'm just going to have to either try and find a cheaper softer recoil cartridge, or drop to a 24gram cqrtridge for her or spend more on a decent cartridge from my club to keep her happy.

Also got to watch cartridge size as 65mm ok on pumps but I think you need 70mm minimum for semis (so I've been told) and then finding what you want at a good price is your next challenge, as said above the biggest shooting shop in my area is sportsman shooting centre at southern counties in Dorset and they didn't have any 70mm 28gram in fibre, closiest was 32gram but they wanted £60 per slab for those.

Zumerset. Thanks for that info. I didn't realise there were different cartidge sizes. I definately need to do more research on 12 bore.

Blackstuff, thanks for the advice. Would you know the answer to this:

I have in my head that you may have mentioned a 4+1 on a previous post. Apologies if it wasn't you.

I recommend you save yourself a fiver & avoid them like the plague, the people behind this new organisation are the same ones making a current hash of the UKPSA by attempting to offer bribes to IPSC worth $30K & then squandering £25K of the members money on legal fees after the bribe was rejected, all in an attempt to retain control over northern ireland, which they failed to do in the end.

They are mainly interested in controling shooters & not in growing the sport, the target shotgunners within the NRA thought so too & voted against this groups chairman last May & now they have a new & far more helpful representative.
Those of you serious about target shogun would be better served by joining the NRA & supporting James Harris in growing the sport in a more positive fashion.

Thanks N...Neil?

I take it thats the two gun comps. I should have my M2 by the weekend so looking to try it out in the two gun and PSG. Just 3 + 1 for now until i can get hold of a Nordic extension but at least i will get practice reloading.

I sold my 22 a while back. Looking to put together a custom AR 22 but can bring my M2 along and 22 ammo if anyone is likely to have a spare one hanging around?

Well there's always spare guns at UKPSA matches and they're a right bunch of b@stards, so i'm sure the omnipotent Fourislands will have one or ten for you
