A late introduction and a question

Hi Mark,

Good question, I'm not sure. When I collect my ST-22 I'm going to have a look at an LMT 223 and hopefully an LM7 at the same time. If I can glean any info I'll let you know.

I was at the British Shooting show as well, but I didn't see LanTac and they don't seem to be listed below either. Are we talking about the same show?

Incidentally, you're not the first person I've heard say they're engineering is superb. What was it you liked? Aren't they just the same as most other high end AR's?

Your right they didn't have a stand at the show but as I was walking around I noticed a few of their AR's being shown off by two gentleman from
Xpert Tactical http://www.xperttactical.com/

I don't know what the connection is but the guns they had a display definitely had the Lantac logo on them. Very impressed with the quality of
the components and the overall final finish of the gun, they felt solid to hold and compared to some of the others I'd looked at during the show
not a toy.

Looking forward to hearing about yours, when do you pick it up?

Hi Mark,

Damn must have missed them and I thought I was being thorough as well!

The firearms link from the URL produces and http 404 error unfortunately, I'll bookmark it for later though. Did the rifles you looked at have the white stencilling and did you notice if they were forged or billet aluminium?

It was supposed to be 1st April, but hopefully it's the middle of April without any further delays. The BAR rail is en route, the barrel is being worked on now and I think it's just the UBR stock that's being a pain.

quick update,



After a bumpy start when some of my paperwork went astray I had my FLO visit today and all its going to plan, a very nice chap. He's happy with what I've asked for and why I've asked for them, just have to bolt the safe in now and he'll hopefully have my cert with him when he comes around to test my diy skills.

I need a piece of advice though, for practical reasons I'm bolting the safe on its back to the rafters, the FLO is ok with that but I'm curious to know what bolts other people had used to achieve this.

You can use coach normal bolts, drill a pilot first to prevent splitting the wood and ideally keep it over to the end of the rafters or over a supporting wall if possible.

Looks like you know what you're asking for... Just a couple of comments having only just jumped through the FAC hoop myself, you haven't mentioned moderators for the .223/5.56 or the .308/7.62, you may as well ask for them IMO. Also just so you're aware, when you list 7.62 in certain counties it seems to implicitly relate to 7.62x51 NATO and not 7.62x39 for instance.

Thanks for the advise, hadn't thought of asking for the extra moderators, there's no harm i doing so. Also I'll add the query about the 7.62 to my every expanding list of questions for the FLO.

BTW if you look at http://forums.shootinguk.co.uk/showthre ... ates/page8 it gives you a list of waiting times, obviously it's not perfect
but supposedly Surrey is quiet quick at aprox 3 weeks. Hope so I've already got my first rifle on order

Hello, looked on the link for west mercia and it came up 2 months or so, and that was 2 years ago.....nothings changed then ...now 7 wks since visit...reckoned 4 wks, god help the probationers in my local area, at this rate there looking at christmas :roll:

Do you now what you are planning to get for the 308 slot? My club has just bought a Remington 700 Police and I have a 700 SPS Varmint. Both are superb rifles.
