I like the colour of the decking as well
It is called the natural look. (proof more work goes into to maintaining the firearms then the deck.)
How could you!!!!!!!
I'm just evil?
Can I get to play with them next week?
Well let me think about that. Ummmm I guess it will be alright.
I still have some 7.62 x 51 to load.

...only 2 with correct flash-hiders on!!

Still got an old VHS tape of night shooting with the SLR. Very strange technique it was as well. No wonder they decided to issue night scopes instead

DO miss the days of the L1A1 on the ranges...though don't miss cleaning them with the p*** poor kits that we had on issue...(I always brought extra gear to use from home)

That reminds me of an odd story I was told years ago. I was about 18 and working for Barclays. I got chatting to an ex-Royal Marine who also worked there.

He stated that years ago when he served, he was plonked in the Malaysian jungles. He said that the SLR cleaning kits were so poo that his section use to fill a bath tub up with CokaCola and soak the rifles in it for hours. Then after that they only needed a very quick swob. Apparenly it worked a treat, but they did get a bollocking as the Coke ate the wooden stocks of their rifles and rotted them... apparently.

Cokey Cola makes a nice marinade for steaks too

It'll be a weaker version of the Molasses Bath for cleaning up solid rusty tools and things that I posted about a while ago

Thank You very much.
Tower will drool and get sticky fingerprints everyplace, and shoot them for each and everyone of you.
While he is here I fly the Union flag over my shooting station in respect to Tower, all of you, and my forefathers. :flag13:

Really? I only know of one that may be incorrect.

Top row on bi pods left to right.

West German G1 with issued flash hider.
Israeli heavy barrel with issued hider
the 3 STG58's
One with a bare muzzle, the others with the issued STOLL long hiders.

On the deck. from bipods out,
South American Imbel with issued hider
A parts mix master with bare muzzle.
The 1965 Ligthow SLR. This one may have the wrong unit installed as I needed a flashider and installed a "commonwealth" hider. I have no clue as to what country it came from. It has 3 slots. It may be British, Aussie, or Canadian. I really dont know.

...by correct I meant L1A1 types. None of the others ever looked proper to me, esp. the Argentine FAL & Euro Fal types

Oh, Ok then, that makes perfect sense to me now.

Just like the Smart car looks wrong to me in so many ways.

Looks like it should have a handle on the back and be used to push the kiddies around the park.
Not driven on the motorway.
