Calton Moor Range: another visit...

#1 Post by meles meles »

This afternoon we took a group of work colleagues to Calton Moor Range (http://www.caltonmoorrange.com) so they could experience the excellent Firearms Familiarisation & Safety Course that Mike there runs. They were mightily impressed. After a short talk in the classroom and a safety briefing, Mike and his assistants laid on a superb experience for them, starting with a .17 HMR and gradually working up through a variety of rifles of increasing calibre and power, ending with a couple of rounds each from an efferlump gun* We suspect there may now be a few more converts to our sport. Things were run very well: informal and relaxed, but with safety and responsible use of firearms emphasised throughout. Highly recommended to all...

* .375 H&H: for some reason no-one wanted to fire more than a couple of shots with it.
