Target discipline?

#1 Post by SevenSixTwo »

Just had my variation returned and they want me to clarify the "target discipline" for shotgun. Can anyone help clarify what they mean?

I think that only THEY know what THEY mean....sadly, and in some cases even then they'd be stuck to explain it to themselves

They MAY mean practical shotgun, fixed distance target shooting, specific UKPSA style matches, etc.

I'd ask THEM to clarify WHAT they want, it'll save time in the long run!

I did but it was pretty vague. I asked if they meant 'distance'? Target 'type'? They weren't too sure but accepted that 'distance' might be ok.

We have facilities and potential to do any kind of target disciple but I'm sure I can't just put "any".

This is dragging on an on so I'd rather get it right than have it returned again - or worse...

Have a look on the NRA website for target shotgun courses of fire and distances and send them a copy of that. What they need is paperwork to show that there is a competition that you can use your requested firearm in.

If you are an NRA member, don't contact UKPSA, don't contact James, contact me. This is what the NRA pay me to do on the members' behalf.

I'm affiliated but no worries, spoke to our Club Sec and it's sorted now.

PS: did you manage to send that email yet? No mega rush though. :-)
