Barrel zero is repeatable however if you swap to different cartridges drops and true zero will obviously change slightly however you can remove the barrel for storage and be 100% confident when fitted again it will be on it's absolute zero.

Don't worry about the 'sales pitch' mate, this really is an excellent concept and product...ovenpaa wrote:Ss add your own sights and choice of barrel and you can shoot any discipline with one of the finest actions in the world from the drawing board of Robert Chombart. My take on it is once you have the basic chassis and action you need never buy another rifle just add a barrel. Imagine you want to shoot F/TR after 3 years of TR with the rifle, the cost of the conversion would be significantly less than a new rifle and you can swap back to your TR rifle in under 10 minutes. Anyway, enough of the sales pitch as this is a range report.
...so much so, that'd I be prepared to temper my bias towards wooden rifles - At some point in the future I want a rifle that would cover both F/TR and McQueen shooting (so being able to change the barrel according to the conditions and distance would be great); and this would be a very functional solution...and I'm sure the cheek piece and pistol grip could be replaced with wooden ones (in fact I think James showed me a wooden pistol grip at the Phoenix)...to finish it properly razz
Re: Barton Road 200713
Dougan, we have English Walnut grips already and I am thinking about a wooden cheek piece although laminate for the grip and cheek piece may be the way forward, Steve Parker of Parmoor stocks is working with me on the grips so I am sure once the design is in place the laminate cheek piece can be built.
Re: Barton Road 200713
Walnut would be good, but laminate is fine...looks nice on my Swing...
...and there's no end of color combinations for those who like that sort of thing.
Edit: the recent heat is making me think what one in pure polished ali and steel (no color at all including the scope) with walnut finishings would look like...

I have a scrap polished tube for an M75 here, it looked superb when first done however it has since been used many times for testing with the laser engraving so is less than pristine now. The whole system in polished and laminate is an interesting concept, in fact in a mix of polished and satin would be interesting as well.

What's the retail for one of these Davy? A short action repeater.
Re: Barton Road 200713
Danny, GBP2795.00 for CG Model 66 LTR (Light Tube Repeater) finished in satin black anodised and fitted with a CG Trigger and 5 shot AICS magazine plus one barrel of your choice/chamber. If you prefer to get your rifle builder to supply and fit the barrel deduct GBP750.00 - We supply full drawings with the chassis system.
Cerakote is available as an option, I have an LTR heading off to be finished in Dark Earth Cerakote fairly shortly with a 20" 6mm barrel which should look good.

"Danny, stand the rifle vertically, butt down on a firm surface, grip the barrel with your hand and unscrew it. To replace the barrel stand the rifle vertically again and screw the new barrel into place, the barrel will bottom out and at this point unscrew it 1/3 turn, then grip the barrel firmly and screw it down briskly with a flick of the wrist, job done.
The reason I do this vertically is it is easier to align the barrel to the receiver and there is less strain on the first thread as it screws in. It takes under a minute to swap a barrel at the firing point with no tools other than your hands"
Is it possible to use a torque wrench or something so as to torque it to the same level everytime or is this not required?

Re: Barton Road 200713
Danny, you can certainly use an action key and barrel vice with you to confirm the exact torque every time you fit a barrel. The M66 uses a 17,0mm hexagonal bar as the key which we can supply if required, just pop a suitable sized socket on the end and use a torque wrench. ideally it should be in calibration if this method is to be used.
Re: Barton Road 200713
That's very attractive! Especially when you think you'd only need 1 scope! :)ovenpaa wrote:Danny, GBP2795.00 for CG Model 66 LTR (Light Tube Repeater) finished in satin black anodised and fitted with a CG Trigger and 5 shot AICS magazine plus one barrel of your choice/chamber.
