I've got a CMMG and a BAR - the CMMG is certainly better (IMO) than the majority of the clones - however the BAR is better. It's one of two rifles that I wouldn't sell.

I can also confirm that Mark is completely different in person to how he is on the internet. His workmanship, advice and customer service have always been fantastic in my experience. If you want to speak to him, just turn up at any CSR match - he'll be there.

I personally like Spikes, especially if you have a billet receiver, they look amazing. As far as I'm aware lead time is < 3 months, which is about the norm. There's something cool about Spikes that you don't get with the other brands. As for feeding & extraction issues, I think it largely depends what you feed it.

If you want one now, there's one here: --> http://www.amsfirearms.co.uk
Spikes Tactical ST22 .22 semi auto AR

This rifle is nigh on new and comes fitted with the following :

10 inch Spikes Tactical quad rail with Magpul ladder covers

Magpul MIAD grip

Extended trigger guard

Magpul STR stock

3 No 25 round magazines

the original A post front sight, A2 stock and handgaurd ( including all fittings )

A real bargain at just £1000 all in. This rifle package cost £1600 just a matter of months ago

or this one for £935.

I had a spikes, the guy from nwcp cross threaded the butt to the body, so it was slightly raised....hopeless...it jammed more than an early sa80 and had a terrible trigger....

I dont take on board the above comments of "it depends what you feed it" i personally like to hit my targets and like to use quality ,consistent ,proven ammunition and expexct if i pay for a rifle advertised as being able to fire .22 lr in semi auto mode,i want it to do just that and cycle....with the spikes i found this was not the case, with no ammo proving to be able to cycle, which i found a very big dissapointment..... I went with a rude fat dog with kid barrell,it never jams, and benched go through the same hole at 50m....when someone finally gets it right i may buy one...

Re- R-Man,

Agree . A basis rifle should eat what ever you feed him or stay on the shelves.
Some friends have endless conversations about what ammo brand they have to use in their respective very fancy & expensive pistols to avoid incidents. Now I am far too polite to say anything but to me the rather obvious solution would be for them to buy a glock or a CZ75 O:-)

ha! The cz 75! One of the worlds most numerous pistols and i dont think ive ever seen anyone use one in a hollywood film!

How about the tangfolio? Remember when that was the lada of the pistol world? Somebody poured a ton of money into em and they came right just in time for the pistol ban!

.22 pistol i liked the simple ruger, straight outa the box u could hit anything...
These lbp's are just not the same...fair play to folk using them,it sticks up 2 fingers to the establishment, but they are not for me....
Getting back to the thread, let me know how u get on,with some real ammo, like rws target or lapua sx....u know ammo that people use to actually hit targets rather that blatting rounds down range aimlessly....

Never had a problem with mini mag, ok it's not super accurate like eley match but I doubt a ar15 is gunna match my target rifle.

For a fun gun on targets and steels I'm happy with it

Seconded, I also have a Spikes ST22, build quality is superb....in fact I have handled and traded a couple of Colt AR15's, AR15A2 HBAR and standard AR15 Sporter (both unfortunately deactivated) and the build quality of the Spikes is superior to Colt!

Providing you run it on Mini Mags, mine never misses a beat, superbly put together AR and a cracking rifle, I don't regret buying it for a second.

Also on the subject of Mark Bradley, I bought a couple of CMMG mags from him a couple of years back, he couldn't have been more helpful and he posted them before I put the cheque in the post! So he gets top marks in my book.

Third for the Spikes, we have two, both run fine on all ammo apart from Winchester Super X Sub hollow points and Geko Bolt action stuff (sorry cannot remember the pukka name of it).

Build it great, accurate, fun. My only complaint is the ones we have are still using the propitiatory Spikes Bolt, where as the new ones don't they use I think a CMMG one or similar (not sure).

Never dealt with Mark, but people come across the wrong way sometimes in forums /emails etc, where as face to face its totally different. Wayne @ NWCP is fine again some people don't click with him and others do.

One of our local Police Riflemen likes my Spikes and wished he had gone for one as its weight build quality etc was close to his issue 416 / 417
