Both my BAR.22 and CMMG Upper feed flawlessly with everything I've tried, both have the latest version of the CMMG Stainless Steel Bolt.

Does that include Winchester Super X Sub Hollow points or Geko Rifle Ammo? I have seen these cause issues in other semi autos too.

I have had Aquila, Eley, Lapua, CCI Standard, Minimag, Magtech AE all run fine. The Geko had a couple of miss feeds but that could have been a dodgy load in the round, and the winchester super X hollow point just didn't have enough power to blow the bolt back to cock it, no stove piping or anything like that.

To be fair, I haven't tried other brands in mine for a good while now, it refused all other food when new, but all semi auto .22's need running in, so it might be fine with others, just found Mini Mags worked extremely well and stuck with them!

Quality US Rifle and quality US ammo = happy days!

Can I round up with 'whose got the bestest' thread with what I understand has been said:

Cmmg - Solid, works no major issues

Spikes - Solid, works no major issues since bolt issue was sorted late 2010 / early 2011 (I dont think they are made for the us market any more as there is more money in centerfire)

Lantac Ravens - Solid, works, Paul (I think I remember correctly) is a good chap but can be hard to get hold of on the phone

Bradley Arms - Solid, works, Mark is seen as one of the best CSR shooters and his product is highly commended but you pay for that financially

All fire most ammo fine (expect my admission above).

I have a Spikes and its fine for me, I like it, but its horses for courses and who you like dealing with, and how much you can spend.

The only real PITA is getting hold of Blackdog magazines, Midway want silly money for 10rd xform mags :(

Does the above sound correct.

I've shot the Lantac Raven (with all the bells on it including an eclan) and CMMG. As you can expect for the price difference there is a lot of difference between the two. However, they both functioned flawlessly and provided much fun- but without getting into the details its like comparing a 1.8 3 series BMW and an M3. If I was buying either at this stage (having run ruger 10/22s and B/A .22's) I would go to the CMMG and trick it up as I went along as you can drop triggers etc in. Whilst they are accurate rifles (especially the raven), I see them more as a practical fun gun.

As for lantac's service, it's very good. Once you get hold of Paul (his diverted number that appears to be an 020... london number) and get his local number he's always on hand to talk to. I'm sure as he expands his operation he will continue to improve. I can't comment on the other suppliers but I've heard good things about BAR

I did the introduction to csr at bisley yesterday and after the initial ribbing about my Lantac Mark gave me some coaching and was nothing but helpful. Also the Lantac shot very well.

Just get that trigger sorted out so it meets the minimum weight for either Practical Optic Class at 1.5 KG or 4.5 lbs for Service Optic as it doesn't quite make the weight for either. If you want to shoot SO class then you'll need to lose the AFG as well.
