Slightly embarrassed!

I was clay shooting last Sunday morning using my Baikal o/u which I have owned for about 30 years. All of a sudden the bottom ejector stopped working.
I took it into my local gunsmith on Monday morning to get it fixed; he removed the fore-end and barrel, smiled then reached for a small screwdriver and made an adjustment and HEY PRESTO! all was well.
It seems that the Baikal shotgun has the facility to disable the ejectors by merely turning a small slot head cam buried in the action.

It just goes to show, you are never too old to learn!

Baikal are not the best looking thing in the world,but they is cheap and they keep on going long past the point of any other manufacturer!

A "USSR" marked up Baikal has outstanding materials. Fit and finish not the best, but you won't find better ordnance steel in any other shotgun..

Another thumbs up for Baikal, they are incredibly robust and competent. If you ever get the chance shoot some Baikal cartridges the pyrotechnics are spectacular.

The only over and under shotgun that I ever managed to regularly break clays with was a Baikal.

Side by sides of any make I can do reasonably well with, but when it came to over and unders the Baikal was the best.

I was given a thousand baikal carts a few years ago, even back then they had been banned from most clay grounds. Opened one up to have a look inside and found an interesting range of shot sizes and shapes. Lots of smoke, noise, hell of a recoil, and flames when they went bang. But boy could they kill, found them to be great on duck and pigeon, ended up having a new recoil pad fitted on my side by side to tame the recoil.

I have a Baikal 12 bore single as my "chuck in the jeep " gun .It's the killingest shotgun I own , I will never sell it ( not worth much anyway ) no matter what I feed it with if I point it in the direction of a pigeon , crow or rabbit , it's dead . I tried it on geese a couple of years ago instead of lugging my Mossberg pump and did very well !
