we really should be cracking on with space exploration tbh. when we screw up this planet, we will need it. it's disaster recovery for the human race.
Sorry if I came across as abrupt, not my intention.

Bad idea, it will come back as V-Ger to destroy us nasty Carmon units.....oh wait that was Star Trek.

It was the pinnacle of technology at the time - but way to go. Who knows what it will find - or who will find it. I thought it was running on it's own now - the space equivalent of gliding - seems it needs some thrust then to keep it moving.

However have WE progressed as a civilisation since it was launched...I think not in many respects.

If it was in the original Star Trek series then it will happen.

I've been waiting to be beamed up out of here to some place I recognise for most of my life.

The longer I live the more alien people and the planet get.

Why? What concerns you with that?

To quote Steven Hawking, look at how colonisation of the United States turned out for the native Indians. tesnews

IF, (big if) there are others out there who can get to us in a timely manner, we probably ought to keep a low profile. If they had the technology for inter stellar space travel we would appear to them as rodents do to us.

I love the 70's naivity/stupidity - Welcome aliens, here's a gold disc with a sample of the human language and some other nick-nacks, oh and a ton of toxic, radioactive waste! clapclap

What amuses me is that some of the first visual signals (TV Pics) to leave our planet depict a nice man with a moustache and flamboyant uniform trying to dominate Europe. Great advert for planet earth.

But a very good reason not to bother visiting, so maybe he did so something positive for all humankind after all!

yeah, I've seen a photo from the Voyager 1 showing plant earth as a dot. at least its being used for more test and observations, not a piece of over priced junk sitting in space...

But it be super cool if the Voyager 1 could travel that far within 6hours :) :)
