I will be about on the 2oth but not shooting in the Trafalgar.

A few of us have a target up at Stick AM for F/TR practice.

Mind you, if the weather is anything like it was on Sunday, it may eb more like Trafalgar than you think!!! icecube45

Didn't see, hear, or notice the shrug of a Frenchman this year, but ze Germans were out in force razz

The weather gods were relatively kind - Got caught in one shower yesterday, but generally the worst rain was at lunchtime so didn't have too much impact on proceedings. At 7.30 this morning there was heavy rain and thunder, and things weren't looking good, but it blew though and from about 9.30 the morning was actually sunny!

I had some problems with my Swedish Mauser - firstly, I shot like a girl with it at 200, and then discovered at 500 that my home-loads were sub-sonic (hadn't tried them at that distance)...at 600, in a fresh wind I was having to aim off into the sand, and then was only just holding the 3-ring :roll:

With my Lithgow SMLE I cocked up the snaps, but managed to put in a respectable short range aggregate score...so some face saved there.

Met up with Ian (Meaty) and his mate Mark...had a good laugh, and I learned a little more about black powder shooting... Gents :cheers:

Went there and met a few old friends, had a chat and bought some stuff.
Tried shooting on Short Siberia at 200yds but the weather went bad after lunch and I came home.
M25 not moving so tried the M3 into London then the North Circular - 2 1/2hrs to get out to the M25 A1 junction and the rain was torrential. 7 hours to drive home - ouch.

Had a really enjoyable weekend and managed to stay dry (relatively) in the tent.
Nice to bump into Dodgyrog for a chat and a big thanks to Rox. A fun evening was had with Dougan in the Artists, and before you say anything, 'Broke-back Bisley' it certainly wasnt :55: :lol:. I did manage to have one too many pints of Flowers so spent some of the night waking up busting a nut and fighting with the zips on the tent but managed to sleep straight through the thunder and lightening! Also I think it was the first time I have ever driven round the M25 without stopping for roadworks, congestion, crashes etc

I wasn't going to mention 'Broke-back Bisley' on the forum...there's nothing wrong with two grown men sharing a tent razz ...and your efforts to remain at least 3 feet apart in a 2 man bivvy did make me laugh :lol:
