7.62/.308 will give you a wider range of ammunition compared to 7.62x54r.Most 54r is steel-cased milsurp with Berdan primers but it is fairly cheap, whereas brass-cased .308 is plentiful and can easily be reloaded to produce custom loads to suit.froggy wrote:Looks very nice

My SVDS is in 54r as i preferred to have it in the Russian calibre, but i have shot a SVD in .308 and they are very nice to shoot, i would have this one myself if i hadn't just bought some others things.as breacher has said these are over 2k just for the gun alone with i think one mag so his is a giveaway at £1600
