I 'spoke' via e-mail with Mark just after obtaining my FAC and he was very helpful: did not purchase an AR15 style eventually bought the ubiquitous Ruger 10/22 which I now want to upgrade to a Rimfire magic custom build.
I may eventually buy the AR15 Rimfire and it more than likely will be a Lantac or Bradley Arms: there are however others that I would purchase first i.e. 308 (when I get the slot).

v22's are very good - accurate and well built with the option for .223 upper if you fancy...but i never really liked the magazines (and price!)
Bremmer for authenticity and again surprisingly accurate with SKmag (bean tins) - but only 10rnd in each mag ... but apparently there are some blackdogs that will fit.
Sig's arent bad either - weird trigger but good once you get use to it, its ok
sw mp 1522 - never really liked ... felt very airsoft to me, but does have some good features and well priced.

Very pleased with our M&P 15-22, yes it's mainly polymer but it handles very well, shoots anything it's fed and is certainly more accurate than I am!.
I've emailed Mark about a 300 Blackout AR build but it's taking a while to get replies, no doubt he's very busy. He quoted 8-10 weeks at least as that's the wait time for the Border barrel he uses.

I spoke to Mark a few weeks back about a 300 Blackout/Whisper AR too, I think I will have him build me one in the new year once I get my variation back. (Only just got my .223 straight pull how I want it... still need a new trigger and probably a new barrel though!)
Let me know how you get on, and spec you go for, and what you're going to use it for!
As for the OP, Bradley Arms .22 would be the nuts if you can get one, but Mark isn't making any, so my second choice would be S&W 15-22.

Re: best .22LR ar15
Has anyone built an AR in .308 ? Am thinking a straight pull version of something like the Precision GAP-10 given i've got all the reloading components and a spare .308 slot. Thx

My Spikes Tactical ST-22 arrived last week and I love it. I've probably blazed 250 CCI tactical through it so far and it's run perfectly. Nice rifle IMO.
