Pigeon, Darwin Award - NSFW

#1 Post by Dangermouse »

I was standing on the platform waiting for the train when I realised there was a very dead pigeon on the tracks in front of me. It took a few moments to realise what I was looking at.

Apologies for the poor picture, taken on the mobile phone, I have had to make it this size so that you can see the detail..
It may not be obvious from this pic but th pigeon did not lose just it's wing, more like half its body with a foot on each side.
At first I though that it had been hit by a train then realised that with both parts sitting close together, that it must have been sitting on the rail. Do you think it saw the train coming and played chicken? Or was it sitting with it's back to the train and was wondering what the rumbling noise was? The train should have been approaching from the left.
Perhaps it was just a suicidal Pigeon who had had enough.

(No I did not jump down and save it for eating later)

I have tried to get the picture to enlarge with no success, must be a mobile phone picture thing.

Not to useful now, but what settings have you got on your phone? Mine is set for maximum size and best resolution but most I see have a small image size as default.
