A shooting Pole
Hello!
I would like to introduce myself.
I live in the thickets of eastern Poland (the land of Poles, not to be confused with the land of Holes which is a completely different land as you all know, renown for its potholed cheese).
I took up shooting (the noisy sort) as a hobby some 7 years ago, untill last year I shot mainly muzzleloaders (including two Parker Hale Enfields).
Last year I got myself a firearms permit and two rifles (a No. 4 MkI* and a Mosin) and some less serious shooting devices ;-).
I'm on he verge of becoming a reloader, the only thing that's stopping me from happily filling up the cases with copious amounts of Czech made powder is the lack of a chrono (on it's way from your favourite colonies ;-) [retired]). Today I got the delivery of funnels, measures, dribblers and sutff - feeling quite happy!
I mainly shoot at our, still being developped, 100 m range. I do not venture out to longer ranges very often, 100 is still enough for me (I hate shooting prone from that distance - it happens though).
Oh, and I was named after saint Andrew, but chosing the nickname I preferred to spare you the attempts at pronouncing 'Andrzej'. I hope you'll apreciate it and don't kick me out and generally tolerate my bloody foreign presence and silly questions about reloading the .303 British ;-).
Cheers

Re: A shooting Pole
Welcome Anpol, could you pop over to Mother Russia and pick us up a few crates of cheap Mosins
Re: A shooting Pole
Well, I could, but I won't. I mean, they don't come cheap these days. I got mine for 1000 zl (some 200UKP - a rip off,I know, although it shoots like a dream and klunks like a charm :-)).
How about som expensive luxurious vodka on the rocks instead - a feast, considering worming induced meltdown of siberian ice?
Of course, you are free to shoot my Mosin if you come to visit, you pay for the buckets of surplus ammo, though. :-D
By the way, it is closer from here to London than to Moscow, I think :-(, not that I'm too woried...

I think it must be the Yanks panic buying them by the case, ah well.
The Vodka and shooting sounds good :)

Re: A shooting Pole
I am still new to all this, but under 1 zl (20p) a round is a norm. 0.85 zl/round can be had locally when buing whole tins (440 pcs) of surplus ammo. 7,62x39 is listed @ 0.65 zl (in batches of 250 rds). 1 UKP = 5 zl roughly.
