Yes - made some about ten years ago. It's OK for swabbing out black powder guns but, as a nitro bore cleaner, it's no where near as effective as say Butches.

Re: Ed's red bore cleaner
Hold on Eds Red is very good at what it does and what it claims to do. It cleans carbon, primer and powder fouling along with plastic very well indeed and that is what it claims to do. However it will not remove copper fouling and doesn't claim to. For copper, ammonia is good remover. Before C2R came along the best bore cleaner bar none and I have tried them all, was cleaning my bore patch and patch about with Eds Red and ammonia. Fouling builds up in layers carbon over copper and removing it in layers as I have described cleaned my bores better than any other propriety brand. C2R cleans copper and carbon as well and more easily so I use that for rifles that use condom bullets. However I do find C2R too effect for use in my cast boolit guns and I still use Ed's Red for that and my shotguns. Eds Red has stood the test of time and is a fine carbon and bore fouling cleaner. The acetone is only really necessary if you have plastic fouling as you get in shotguns. ATF makes a fine gun oil, ATF and acetone make and excellent creeping oil.
You can pay a lot for a label and a small bottle but sensible shooters use home made for value and effectiveness.

Re: Ed's red bore cleaner
Just make sure that the ATF is Dexron 2 or 3 it mixes better.
Not sure where the paint stripper came from, it should be acetone if you need those qualities.
Petrol cans are good for storage but only if you use the acetone if that is omitted then any plastic container will do. Acetone evaporates if not closed and can eat some plastics.
Personally I use pure turpentine rather than white spirit as per the original Frankford recipe but white spirit is just fine, the ATF replaces the original sperm whale oil.

So, ATF Dexron2-3, +Acetone,+ Turpentine, +Paraffin?

Re: Ed's red bore cleaner
Yes that is it, white spirit works as well as pure turpentine is easier to get and cheaper too.
Just mix equal parts, add some lanolin of you like soft hands.
Three of us made up a couple of gallons last year and split it.
Once you have some it is amazing what you use it on and how fast you go through it.

One more q: looking for some kind of metal can with closure to store it. Any advice, brand name, where to buy it? Been in B&Q, don't have anything like. Prefer metal over glass for storage.
